It is our desire that you will be led to create your own prayer garden at the Casa, to honor the Divine and as an offering of prayer of blessing to those that visit Mother Mary's garden. |
How to Create Your Own Prayer Garden at the Casa
1. Let us build it for you. We'll dig out the circle; place the edging; fill the garden with 16 bags of peat moss, top soil, compost. You send us what you would like placed in your prayer garden. (Be as artistically creative as you like, keeping in mind that the elements you place in your prayer garden will need to be resistant to weather wear and tear.
Cost: $150
Here's some suggestions: Susan will be placing a small statue of Mother Mary in the center of her garden. Surrounding the statue she is placing several large "Heart" shaped rocks she has found throughout her travels to sacred sights. Among the rocks she will plant flower bulbs this fall.
Other ideas: Small ornate trees (survivable to -40°); tasteful garden statues (no more than 18" high) of your favorite angel, saint, etc.; small flowering bushes; Decorative Garden Stone or Crystal; Bird House or Baths. Give thought and meaning to your elements as they are meant as a prayer to bless the world.
2. Come build it yourself: In the spring of 2010 we will begin offering prayer garden workshops where you will be able to come join with others in creating your own prayer garden at the Casa. We will announce dates and times in the Casa Newsletter, so be sure to sign up on the home page.
