Progress It Is Two milestones were reached several weekends ago. The well on the Casa property is now producing clear, refreshing, life sustaining water thanks to our new solar panels. That's right, your Casa de Santa Maria is going green. As far off the energy grid as we can. Two years have past since that well was dug, and we've now been able to complete the process by installing those solar panels. Thanks to all who made it possible with your donations of just over $15,100 -- from concept to water flow. The second milestone was the delivery (on the very same day) of 13-boulders to be used in our sacred Stone Circle to be located in Mother Mary's Garden. We'll be able to begin setting the stones in proper order when the winter solstice arrives. According to ancient custom, the stones are set in a particular way. The east-west axis stones must align with the rising and setting suns on the two equinox days. On the shortest day, the sun will set right over the point of the Sunset stone. On the longest day, the sun will rise exactly over the point of the sunrise stone. Then the complicated circle layout begins. Our prayer is that you will one day find yourself standing among these sacred stones in San Luis, breathing in the miraculous energy, as Susan and I did last year among the ancient stones of Stonehenge on the Salisbury Plains of England. Would We Ever See The Day? |
It was in January of 2005 the Casa contracted with Haida Tribe Master Carver Lee Wallace in Alaska to begin work on a totem carving of Mother Mary to eventually stand in the center of our three hundred foot diameter garden at Casa de Santa Maria. Would you believe TODAY is the day. We begin the raising of the statue, Thursday, September 18th, 2008. It will take about seven hours and there'll be about six of us working on the effort. Send off your prayers during the day that all goes smoothly. The one-of-a-kind carving weighs 750lbs and stands 10'6". It's a beauty. We're moving forward folks. Thanks to all who made it possible with their donations of just over $15,000, from concept to installation.

Still Time To Make The Party |
Sounds like a party to me. The Casa de Santa Maria's first annual Garden Party, October 3 - 5, 2008 Plan to arrive on Thursday, October 2nd, and return home on Monday, October 6th. (Or whatever part you can make!) Just email us so we know you'll be joining in the fun. So far we have Three folks coming all the way from San Luis, two from Kentucky, one from Denver, one from New Mexico, one from Florida, and one from Australia. AUSTRALIA??? That's right, from the land down under! (Wonder if we told her about the digging part?) There's still a possibility two folks will be joining us from California. Email us and we'll supply additional details. We're on the move! |
