A Time For Thankfulness

Dear Casa Friends,

Exactly one year ago Mother Mary led us to visit what was to become the promised land, the future home of the Casa de Santa Maria. On November 15th last year, the Casa de Santa Maria became a non-profit organization, so we are coming upon the Casa's one year anniversary… and we are thankful.

During this busy year we sold our home, moved to San Luis, Colorado, and launched the Casa website. Since then our Casa friends have contributed almost $16,000 dollars toward creating the Casa… and we are so grateful for that loving support.

Our goal for the coming year is to manifest creative ways to raise capital and to find grants to help fund the Casa projects. Any ideas would be welcome. We've been blest to have a professional fund-raiser/grant writer, and dear friend, to contribute her services.

We are planning to have Mary's garden well underway by spring, with the raising of Mary's totem statue to take place some time in May of 2007.

We are also in the process of planning several healing retreats here in San Luis for 2007, as-well-as beginning to plan our annual Easter pilgrimage to Medjugorje, and possibly a tour to sacred sites in England in August or September. Please let us know if you are interested in any of these events and we will get back to when the details are available.

During our meditations, spirit continues to say "Get ready for miracles!" We have no doubt whatsoever the truth of that promise. Miracles have already taken place.

First, after giving us the commission to help create the Casa de Santa Maria, spirit motivated these two reluctant helpers to relocate to this isolated and cold climate -- because this is where Mother Mary chose her Casa to be located. That was miracle!

Secondly, within hours of leading us to the land, spirit led a dear friend to purchase the land for the Casa. Can you say M-I-R-A-C-L-E?

Thirdly, knowing we would not like the move, and being told the local population was so totally closed and suspicious of "outsiders", within days of being here, we have fallen in love with the area and its friendly people. We have been welcomed with open arms. Indeed a miracle to us.

We can't wait to experience the other miracles about to take place.

We thank you for being a part of this exciting non-denominational spiritual oasis. We love your emails of encouragement and support. Keep them coming! casadesantamaria@mac.com

Love & Hugs,
Susan & Milt Sanderford

My Dearest Children...

You are the light of the world. Within you shines the very light of God. Within you is the changing power of Love. Within you is the voice of God, silently awaiting your attention… waiting there in Love. This guiding voice will lead you into peace and joy, if you will listen. Susan & Milt,

What an inspiration you both have been in my life.

Your willingness to go where you are asked, and do what is requested of you has been nothing short of life changing for me as well as my loved ones.

It is difficult to relate to the faith and courage you show, but I pray for that same dedication to be a part of my future.

May you be blest as you have blest so many.

Love,

Casa Update

Casa Welcomes First Full-time Volunteer

It was a cold and stormy night when beautiful Molly first came calling. She was soaked, shaking and obviously a soul who had lost her way. Fearful of our welcoming attempts, she ran away several times when warmth and food was offered. It was obvious to us her recent travels had caused her to be mistrustful of any attempts to help better her situation.

Days passed and she carried on her refusal to accept any form of kindness, while camping on our porch and occasionally peaking in our windows. This woman, we intuitively knew, had seen a hard life, as many of us had experienced. One particularly brutally cold evening, just before bedtime, and with Molly on our minds, we turned on the porch light, to find Molly huddled in our giant flower pot.

That was the last straw! Susan and I plotted how we could bring her from the cold into the warmth of our house and hearts. Checking once again to see if she was still potted, as I peaked out the window so as not to scare her off, there with her nose pressed against that same window, her eyes asking to be accepted, the time seemed right.

With a piece of raw turkey bacon in hand, she reluctantly entered our home and took over our hearts.

We proudly introduce you to Molly, who has agreed to be our full time Casa Healing Cat, ready to greet all who visit, especially those who are in need of total acceptance and unconditional love.

How, you ask, has Tucker (The Cat) Sanderford reacted to Molly's feminine presence? More adventures of Molly and Tucker to follow in our next Casa-Gram.

A chip here, a rub there — band aid anyone?

During our 2006 Easter pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Susan was awakened in the middle of the night and told to carve Mother Mary statues. "Carve? I can't even draw one!" Well, that has all changed since our move to San Luis.

Susan's latent artistic gifts have blossomed, and, to your right, you'll find a product of her new found talent.

The carvings are from the wood of beautiful and rare San Luis yellow pine. The statue is 9 inches tall with an approximate circumference of 4 and one half inches, and hand rubbed with tong oil.

Not only a lovely keepsake, but as Mother Mary has shared with us, her statue will carry her healing presence. A meaningful gift for yourself or a loved one.

All proceeds go toward the planning and construction of the Casa de Santa Maria. ($100 donation - includes priority shipping)

With no inventory on hand, each Susan Sanderford hand carved Mother Mary statue will be made as they are ordered, specifically with you in mind.

Each statue comes with a message from Mother Mary, and a numbered certificate of authenticity as being hand carved by Susan.

Follow up Story - Stoop, Dig, Up & Stretch

We shared with you the story of the thousands of beautiful stones to be found throughout the Casa property, and our plans to gather and polish those stone for those folks who would like to own such a precious keepsake.

Thanks to Sara Nagle and Scott Tinker of Parker, Colorado, Susan and I were not the only ones bending, sifting and sorting several weekends ago.

Sarah Scott

Thanks Sara and Scott, it was fun having you as hunting partners. Your constant love and willingness to help has been an inspiration to us. (It's a 444 mile round trip drive to the Casa property for this wonderful couple.)

For an even greater challenge, next time let's wait till there's a foot of snow on the ground! Deal?
